Understanding the Context
I applied pretty close to the early action deadline (november 1) for fall and got a response november 12. However, the early action faq says students applying early action will receive. Early action is new for this year so no one here would have applied with it, but early action is non binding, making your statement incorrect. Early action (ea) allows you to apply to penn state earlier than the regular decision deadline and receive a decision sooner, typically by january or early february.
